Hey everyone! Sorry It’s been a while since my last post but yesterday was also another great Friday. I had my one day chemo treatment yesterday morning which took about 2 hours! My counts are dropping like normal but the doctor is not too concerned about them and said they will most likely start to come up and I’ll be good for my treatment next week which will be 5 to 6 nights in the hospital.
This week has been a great one and for the most part I have felt wonderful! Wednesday I finally got out of the house and went to Corpus with momma to get her hair done! I also convinced Josh (our hair guy) to dye my hair grey, purple and blue! It is wild and I LOVE IT! I don’t think I would have ever done it or Josh would let me do this if I wasn’t about to lose my hair!
I also started my “job” Thursday, which consist of sitting in my dads office at the barn playing on my new circuit and keeping his employee Sydney on track. Sounds like the dream job to me! Mom and Dad just want to make sure I get up and move around a little.
This week has really made me realize even more how blessed I am! Many people have said sorry that I’m going through this or they wish they could take all of it away so I didn’t have to go through it but how I have seen it is God would not have placed me in this position if he didn’t think I could handle it! I feel like all my life he has prepared me for something like this. Believe me this is not the first obstacle he has placed in front of me. Yes, this is probably the biggest, hardest and longest yet but that is what’s so amazing about him. I feel that he prepares us throughout of lives, just as he prepared me.
I have always had a great relationship with our Lord but I feel like I have also kept that relationship to myself, until I got to college. Texas Lutheran is such an amazing school and I’m so blessed to have gotten to spend a semester and a half there. With that being said I felt that college was my time to step out of my comfort zone and find out where my faith was. Thank goodness for great friends and a wonderful roommate who were ready to do the same with me.
It all started LATE one night last semester. Chelsea, Kaci and I all had a long stressful week. We were all to that breaking so we decided to take a night drive! On that drive we turned our pandora station to Christian Contemporary and just jammed out! Something that night changed everything in all three of us and I’m so glad it did.
God is amazing and I encourage all to find their path with the Lord. Yes, it might be scary or intimidating in the world we live in but it’s totally possible. Many of us try to just seek him only when things are not going our way and wait for a huge fix or response. This is why I encourage you to find him in just everything you do, that way when you need that huge fix or response it is easier to hear and find his response.
Yes, some days are very hard to pray and I feel like I have nothing more to ask for but he knows exactly what you need and is always listening!
So, for all following this journey of mine I challenge y’all to seek God and remember to pray! He is always listening and HE is AMAZING!
1 Chronicles 22:19
“Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God. Begin to build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the sacred articles belonging to God into the temple that will build for the name of the Lord.”
